Table Tennis England and Active Newcastle have brought back Ping! Newcastle to the streets of the Toon in time for the summer holidays.
Ping! is the free street ping pong initiative set up by Table Tennis England, which sees table tennis tables popping up in remarkable and surprising places throughout your city. It is free and the perfect opportunity for everyone to get outside and fall in love with table tennis. Ping! Newcastle brings you 18 tables in 14 different locations. There’s a table on Newcastle’s busiest high street (Northumberland Street), one in the historic Grainger Market and local parks like Leazes feature. There is a table somewhere for everyone!
You can find your nearest table here, or you can download Ping’s free table finder.
Ping! Newcastle has also partnered with Lane 7 to bring a deal that can’t be missed. All you have to do is say the secret code word when booking a ping pong table at Lane 7 over the telephone to qualify. The deal gets you (and as many friends as you can muster!) an hour of ping pong for £5 instead of £9, which is almost half price. The secret code work is Ping.
This is a great way of getting the kids active over the summer holidays. The arrival of the tables is something both the Teen and Mr. Canny look forward to each year as it gives them another arena for some ‘friendly competition’ 🙂 In fact, our whole family enjoyed visiting Lane 7 for a game or 5. My father-in-law, at the ripe of 70, was the supreme champion.
