The Staiths Cafe, Breakfast Review

Breakfasts

29 Jun
One of most viewed blogs was about a visit Jnr and I made to Staiths Cafe in Dunston. We’ve been back for lunches since as we really enjoyed our grub there, but had not sampled their breakfasts. Me & Mr. Canny dropped by at the weekend to give them a whirl on our way to do chores.
We decided to sit on the terrace to eat, and if we ever get a summer I imagine this area will be very popular. Graham Soult loves the upstairs table that overlooks the beautiful Staiths, but that was already taken when we arrived. The table outside gave us a great vantage point while enjoying our food.
The cafe was very busy, and although it was lunchtime everyone else had the same idea and were ordering late breakfasts. Mr. Canny had the full works – 2 rashers of bacon, 2 sausages, black pudding, a fried egg, beans, 2 slices of toast and some mushrooms. I ordered a Sausage & Bacon Bun, smothered in tommy-ato sauce.
I also bought a Naked smoothie as I’m trying to up my fruit consumption. I’m not going to say I’m trying to eat healthy, as the sarnie would have completely contradicted that.
The breakfasts were good quality and we had a lovely view as we ate. The cafe was very busy, and their chocolate brownies are proving as popular as ever. For £14 we certainly weren’t robbed! We’ve got to go back for their Lasagne Night.
Thanks for reading,
Pip x

That is great value! I love a good full English (but not a black pudding. So not too ‘full’).
