Vegan Restaurant Week is back from the 21st January until 27th January 2019. Now in its third year, we’ve been working with North East restaurants and cafes on their offers for what we hope will be the best year yet.
Contrary to popular opinion, it’s not just for vegans. Yes, it’s Veganuary. Yes, its called Vegan Restaurant Week. If you look through the list of participating restaurants, however, you’ll notice that they’re not purely vegan establishments. These are places you will always find plant-based food available, not just some marketing ploy for the event or Veganuary.
The event celebrates the diversity of vegan food. We want to show that not only is vegan food tasty, it’s also widely available here in the North East.
We’ve got restaurants from Berwick to Hartlepool, Durham to Newcastle. Of course, we’d like to write about all 35 but we don’t have time because we’re busy promoting the event on social media. Here’s are few standouts;
Not only do Fat Hippo have a vegan menu, but they’re also running a competition for a Vegan Meal for two in conjunction with us to celebrate our event.
Vegano are moving on from their horse box on the Quayside and into a bricks and mortar location next to the Discovery Museum in Newcastle. We had a sneak peak a few days ago and you’re in for a treat if you visit. We’ll be posting a review soon!
Ury have been a staple of Vegan Restaurant Week since the start and have a fantastic menu on offer. It’s a 3 course meal for £15 per person, check out the full menu.
Northern Soul Kitchen & Karmic Cakery
They’re joining forces for a beautiful vegan afternoon tea event. The price of £35 is for two people and includes a glass of Prosecco each.
Don’t miss out!
From burgers to Italian food, Keralan cuisine and more, Vegan Restaurant Week has you covered once again. All of our participants have worked hard to produce menus and offers that show how versatile vegan food is. The event also celebrates independent restaurants and businesses in the North East. We hope you visit at least one during the week.
