I took my niece out for a spot of girlie lunch during the holidays to Teasy Does It, located in Heaton. We both love a good cake, and also heard they did fantastic milkshakes (sense a theme this week?!). It was the kitsch interior that made me smile, with the collection of teapots and cute Salt & Pepper shakers on each table catching my eye.
As it transpired, lunch was a lot more rushed than I’d have liked as Dinky was sick and I’d not taken a change of clothes out with me. Thankfully I discovered this after I’d eaten my Veggie Chilli Cheese Fries, which were delicious and filling. They were also very good value for money.
My niece ordered a Bacon Sarnie, followed by a Salted Caramel Milkshake. I was going to order one of their self-proclaimed luxury shakes too, but discovered they had Sparkling Lime & Jasmine Fentimans and wanted to try that instead. I’m personally not a fan of this new flavour, so in future I’ll stick with my favourite Rose Lemonade.
The lunches were of a good standard and reasonably priced. The niece really enjoyed her shake, which was made with Haagen Dazs ice cream. Browsing the menu, I was impressed by the number of vegan and vegetarian options available, although there were no vegan cakes on offer when we visited. Since liking their Facebook page I have seen they serve a vegan-friendly Chocolate Cake, so it must depend on what is available on the day. It might be worth checking before visiting if you have dietary requirements so you aren’t disappointed. We went home with our Brownies because of Dinky, and both of us gave them the thumbs up.
